Apology—Accepted!

Apology—Accepted!

Nothing is more desirable than a person who realizes his mistakes, admits it and apologizes for it. Saying a sincere sorry is probably the hardest thing to do; that’s why a person who can do it is definitely someone with strong and admirable characteristics.

Respect and admiration are probably two qualities you get from your partner when you know how to apologize properly. Not only will your partner fall in love with you more, but your relationship will also change for the better with this simple word—sorry.

When apologizing to the love of your life, you should make sure that the three essential points of an apology are there.

Point 1: Honesty. Your partner will know if you are just apologizing to avoid a fight. Doing this will only make matters worse. Nothing can be accomplished by giving empty words. Sometimes all they want is a genuine apology, and in order to have this, you should be able to identify and fully understand what you did wrong. Remember that both of you made a mistake so don’t say you did nothing wrong. Stay calm and think about why and how you’ve hurt your partner. When you have fully understood this, then apologizing sincerely will not be that difficult.

Point 2: Accountability. Take responsibility and don’t make excuses. It’s not enough that you admit your mistake, but you also have to show that you understand what mistake you did. Your partner will trust you more when they can hold you accountable for the error you’ve committed. Making excuses also show that you don’t fully realize what happened and how you’ve hurt your partner. Explain if you must. Tell them your side of the story and let them know that it’s not an excuse. More often you’ll be the one receiving the apology, not giving it.

And point 3: Promise. Promise them that you’ll be better, and do better. There’s no point in apologizing if you’re just going to do the same mistakes again. Learn from your mistakes. Your partner will be so happy to know that not only did you admit and realize your own mistakes, but that you will also try to be better next time.

Remember that an apology doesn’t kill, and that your relationship can be saved and can stay stronger by having a sincere apology.

The Origins Of Father’s Day and When It Is Celebrated

In 1909, Sonora Smart Dodd of Spokane, Washington, thought of the idea for Father’s Day while attending a Mother’s Day sermon. She loved him so much and she just wanted her dad to know how special he was to her. Sonora’s father was born in June, so she decided to hold the first Father’s Day celebration on the June 19th, 1910.

In 1956, Father’s Day was recognized by a Joint Resolution of Congress. President Richard Nixon established a permanent national observance of Father’s Day in 1972. It was to be held on the third Sunday of June every year. This year it falls on June 15th. So, Father’s Day was started in memory, love and gratitude by a daughter who believed that all good fathers should be honored with a special day.

People celebrate Father’s Day on different days on different parts of the world. While Indians, Americans, English, French, Sri Lankans, Filipinos, Pakistanis, Mexicans, South Africans, Japanese, Irish and Greek celebrate Father’s Day on third Sunday of June(this year it is June 15th), Australians and New Zealanders celebrate on the first Sunday of September. Argentina, Bahamas, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Cyprus, Guyana, Jamaica, Malaysia, Malta, Mauritius, Netherlands, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Singapore, Slovakia, Trinidad and Tobago, Turkey, Venezuela, Zimbabwe are some of the other countries that celebrate Father’s Day on the third Sunday of June.

In Germany it has a different origin and is known as Vatertag or Herrentag and it falls on the Ascension day. It has become a drinking day for them.

6 Gifts Your Dad Would Love on Father’s Day

1. Kidnap him from work and play hooky. If your budget’s limited, plan a low-cost outing: Go to an amusement park, or pack a picnic lunch.

2. Hand him cash to spend that he didn’t earn. Give him a gift certificate to his favorite store. Spending someone else’s money is always more fun than spending your own!

3. Send him to a men’s retreat. Set aside a weekend for dad to go to the church’s upcoming men’s retreat. He’ll return refreshed and renewed.

4. Surprise him with a sparkling clean car and an oil change. If your dad does all our automobile maintenance, take the car in for an oil change or an unexpected car wash, he’ll be thrilled and relieved. Getting into a clean car to go to work is always better than putting up with a filthy one!

5. Give him a day alone to do what he wants. He just doesn’t have enough free time. If he did, he’s always spending it with the family. What he might need is some time alone.

6. Save up for that expensive gift he wants. Sometimes, our dads just don’t want to spend anything for themselves because they always prioritize everybody else around them.

7. Just let him know you love him. He will appreciate this the most. If he knows you are thinking of him and genuinely love him, then he’ll know all his efforts didn’t go to waste. Give him a big hug and thank him for all that he has done.

There are as many ways to celebrate Father’s Day. The time you spend planning any event in his honor is well worth the effort.

Father’s Day Dinner Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound Pork Tenderloin – or boneless chops
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce – low sodium
  • 2 teaspoons Dry Sherry
  • 1 teaspoon White Wine vinegar
  • 1 cup Fresh Pineapple diced
  • 4 Green Onions
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Ginger
  • Cooking Spray as required

Instructions

Mix together the soy sauce, vinegar, and sherry in a large bowl.

Remove all visible fat from the pork then slice across the grain into 1/4 inch slices. Place the pork in the bowl and stir to assure all pieces are wet. Set aside for at least 15 minutes while preparing the rest of the dish.

While the pork is marinating, finely chop the garlic and ginger. Thinly slice the onions, separating the green from the white portions. Cut the pineapple into thin, (small bite-size) pieces.

With everything prepped and at hand, heat a wok or deep frying pan (sprayed very lightly with oil) until it’s not quite smoking. Quick fry the ginger in the pan followed in 1 minute by the whites of the opinions. About a minute later add the garlic. . As the garlic lightly browns and other items soften pull the pork from the marinade with a slotted spoon and add it to the pan. Stir this mixture gently while the pork cooks. When it’s starting to turn brown around the edges of the pork, add the pineapple and reduce the heat. The pineapple will heat through and start to caramelize. That’s when you serve the dish alongside (or over if you wish) hot steamed rice, garnished with the green onion slices.

These are just sample recipes, you can mix and match and experiment! He will definitely appreciate your effort.
